Two Toned Traditional Kitchen Project in Carroll Gardens

with Swarovsky Crystal Pendant line voltage lights for accent lighting.  WAC LED dimmable low voltage tape lighting with transformers to create evenly distributed lighting in both under cabinet as well as in cabinet lighting applications.   For overhead task lighting, I used 4″ Halogen retrofit flood Halogen down lights.  For switches using the 2-4 foot rule, I used Decora Designer Light Switches, GFIs, and Dimmer switches.   All stone in the kitchen is Absolute Black Granite.   The sink has a Moen Faucet and a franck sink.   Artistic Tile Opera Glass created the backsplash.  All of the kitchen appliances include the following:  a Zephyr Concealed Hood, TC700 Sub zero Refridgerator, Wolf Stove, Wolf Convection Oven, and a gas Wolf Stove Top,

The flooring was leveled as well as replaced using sister planking on the beams underneath the floor.   The kitchen used ebony stained wide plank flooring and it was installed in a pattern that was perpendicular to the rest of the flooring throughout the apt.   The flooring team leveled the floor by finding the highest point in the apt and using that as the basis to raise the lowest parts of the floor to the highest point in order to create a level floor.   The direction of the flooring runs along the long direction of the room except in the kitchen which is perpendicular to the flooring throughout the rest of the apt.    In order for a floor to be level, the variance can be no greater than a 1/4″ difference.    Royal Mahogany stain was applied throughout the apt over a wide plank flooring.  The Ebony stained kitchen floor has two coats of stain while the Royal Mahogany floor has only one coat as the client requested.   We also installed a three piece base molding throughout the apartment.

 

We used the same cabinets in the master bathroom as for the Kitchen in the color of Ebony.  Porcelanosa 12″x24″ white tile was installed on the side walls with the back accent wall being tiled in Little Satch Artistic Tile.   We installed Rohl  Cisal fashion plumbing with a Porcelanosa LED shower head.  The countertop for the vanity was cut with an ogee edge for a Kathryn Kohler Sink.
